    Head Custodian

    Siren Schools is seeking a Head Custodian for a 12 month, full time position/salary negotiated with Board to provide leadership in maintaining all District buildings and grounds in accordance with the policies, rules and laws.

    Reports to:  District Administrator

    Job Goal:  To constantly promote the safety, health, and comfort of the students and employees of the district.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Maintain all District buildings and grounds, keeping them in good working condition and in compliance with policies, rules and laws.

    • Check and direct employee work including evaluations and discipline. 

    • Review and participate in the hiring process.

    • Receive and process complaints/grievances and act to correct.

    Requirements: 

    • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent with supervising experience preferred.

    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

    • Must have considerable knowledge of the operation of heating and ventilation systems and a working knowledge of/or experience in the operation and minor repair of mechanical devices, basic plumbing, electrical and construction, small hand tools, safety and cleanliness procedures, reading blueprints, diagrams and manuals.

    • Must have knowledge and ability to operate skid steer, attachments and other small equipment.

    • Must possess or be willing to obtain Wisconsin Boilers License

    • Must possess knowledge of building codes, laws and regulations as they apply to school buildings and grounds.

    • Must have the ability to run, control and maintain the Honeywell Excel Building Supervisory System for heating and cooling the building.

    • Must possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license

    Personal Requirements:

    • Mental alertness, neat personal appearance, good health, cooperativeness and dependability.

    • Must have sufficient dexterity to handle all equipment efficiently and safely.

    • Must have leadership and supervisory skills and good communication skills.

    • Must be able to maintain good relationships with students, staff and the public using understanding and tact.

    Compensation: TBD based on experience.

    SUMMER JOB AT SIREN SCHOOL DISTRICT

    Need a little extra cash this summer?  14 years old or older?  Enjoy cleaning and working with your hands?  Not afraid to get your hands dirty?  Siren School District is looking for students in need of a summer job!   The Maintenance Dept is looking for 2-3 part-time staff to help clean the school building this summer.  No need for custodian experience as we will teach you what you need to know.  This would start at $11.50 per hour and would begin the week of June 5th.  Your hours would be no more than 20 per week.  See Mrs. Seaman in the District office to apply.

    Special Education Paraprofessional Positions:

    The School District of Siren has opened up a search for paraprofessionals to work with students with disabilities for the 2022-2023 school year.   This position could be working directly with cognitively and physically handicapped and/or  behaviorally challenged students, or students needing academic support at multiple grade levels. Positions could be full or part time. 

    The Special Education aide works directly with students under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. Duties may include: changing and tube feeding wheelchair bound students,  providing educational support for students, documenting daily activities of students, supporting students in the classroom,  van transportation driver and other duties as assigned.  The ability to communicate effectively with staff and students is essential. Candidates must possess the ability to be flexible in their assigned work duties. Possession of  Wisconsin DPI Handicap Aide License or the ability to obtain one is required.

    Dragon Learning Center Coordinator and Teachers Needed

    Our Dragon Learning Center is looking for adults to join our exciting after school program for the 2023-2024 school year. We are looking for a Coordinator to run the program but also for teachers but you do not have to be a licensed teacher. Candidates that have an interest in teaching and helping students grow as learners should apply. Working hours for the Coordinator position vary and cap at 30 hours per week.  Working hours for Teachers are from 3:30 pm until 6:00 pm Monday through Thursday. All applicants will be subject to a background check and need a good driving record. Duties for Teachers include: homework assistance, enrichment lessons, and supervision. This position for Teachers is 10 hours per week.
