  • Eugene LaRock Outstanding Business Student Award

    The Eugene LaRock Memorial Award was established in 1997 in remembrance of Gene LaRock, the former business education teacher at Siren High School.  Mr. LaRock was dedicated to helping students develop skills that would enable them to be successful in all areas of their lives.  He believed that you could succeed if you had the willingness and determination to.  The criteria for the award are based on the expectations Mr. LaRock had for his students.

    To be selected to receive this award a student has to show a desire to be successful in the area of business by meeting the following criteria: 

    • have future plans to attend school in a business related courses
    • take at least 4 semesters of business classes and
    • maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA in business classes.

    Eugene LaRock Memorial Scholarship
     
    In 2014, Eugene LaRock, Jr. initiated a scholarship in his father's memory. In order to receive the scholarship, the student must be planning on attending school in the business field and have taken business classes throughout high school.
